Manchester Pageant 1938: Certificate

Uploaded by Paul Readman

This unusual item is a certificate presented to Iris Coates, who as a 13-year old was one of the many people involved in the organisation of the 1938 Manchester Historical Pageant. Iris, who was one of 8 children, is remembered by her daughter Brenda Jackson as having a great talent for sewing and clothes-making, so it is possible she was involved in one or more of the costume-making teams. In later life, Iris moved to California.
