Summary
Historical pageants had been staged at Craigmillar in 1906 and 1927; after an interval of forty years, this was the third staged there. Under the direction of Miss E. Willis, it was performed outdoors in the grounds of the castle on 7 and 8 June 1967, as part of the Craigmillar Festival of Drama and Music. The declared purpose of the event was 'to give the residents an opportunity of portraying something of the rich heritage of Craigmillar'. It seems the pageant told the story of the place until the present day, since the closing scene was set in 1967.
